General Information

Good engineering practice must be applied in all types of storage configurations. Burnaby Fire Department is the Authority Having Jurisdiction in application of the B.C. Fire Code in Burnaby.

All renovations of a building require permits obtained at Burnaby City Hall, Building Department. 4949 Canada Way, 2nd Floor, Burnaby, BC.

Note: British Columbia Fire Code (2006) Edition Section 1.1 Sentence 1.1.1.1.(1) (Unless otherwise specified, the owner or the owner's authorized agent shall be responsible for carrying out the provisions of this Code.)

All Life Safety Devices must be tested and maintained as per maintenance schedule set out in the British Columbia Fire Code (2006) Edition. Copies of the maintenance schedules are available in Building Maintenance section.
